Pacer Express

Running out of time to search the library? We will pull the book and hold it at the Circulation Desk for you.

Who can place a request?

All current USC Aiken students, staff and faculty.

How do I make a request?

Use the Request button in the online catalog. Click the “Get It” option on the left side of the screen in the menu when viewing the details about the item.

Where do I pick up the requested item?

Requested items can be picked up at the Circulation Desk.

Faculty and staff have the option to select delivery to Work Address. If choosing this option please include the building and office number in the special instructions.

Any general collection book that circulates can be requested. Items not available for request are: Reference, May Collection, Reserve, Films, CDs and/or other non-circulating items.

Simply use the “Request from Interlibrary Loan” option under the Get It section under the detailed description of the item in our online catalog. Please contact Circulation at 803-641-3286 with inquiries.

Use the Request button near the top of the item's page in our catalog and select “Aiken” from the dropdown list of pickup locations.

Loan periods are determined by the home campus library for the item, but you will be allowed to renew the book as many times as you want until another patron requests it.

As long as the item is available, you will receive the item in approximately 3 business days.

An email will be sent to your USC Aiken email address when your item is ready for pickup.

Books are held for 7 days. If not picked up, they are returned to our shelves or returned to the lending library.

Pacer Express is a service where the library will pull a book or material, check the item out, and make the item available to the individual for pick-up. You can place multiple Pacer Express Requests. Also, faculty and staff can have requests delivered to their campus office or mailbox.

To make a request, find the item in the catalog. Login with your full USC Aiken email and password, then select Pacer Express from the request options.
