The University Archives preserves the permanently valuable, non-current records of USC Aiken. Of particular importance are the Records of the Aiken County Commission on Higher Education, Records of the Faculty Assembly, and Records of the Chancellors. These collections document the founding of the institution and its growth from a two-year college to a four-year university.
Manuscript and photographic holdings trace USC Aiken’s move from its original home at Banksia to its present campus on University Parkway. The Archives also includes:
Student publications (yearbooks, literary magazines, newspapers)
Faculty handbooks
Commencement programs
Photographs
Extensive documentation of USC Aiken’s accreditation efforts and institutional assessment
The University Archives is housed in the Gregg-Graniteville Library on the USC Aiken campus. Research visits are available by appointment only.
