Library Mission

The Gregg-Graniteville Library of the University of South Carolina Aiken creates a safe and welcoming environment that nurtures and promotes intellectual growth, critical thinking, and success through connecting people with knowledge, innovative instruction, and quality library services.

Access to Information

We value providing access to information for all, and we support efforts to expand free and open access to quality information.

We value accessibility and ease of access to all library collections, services, and facilities.

Critical Thinking

We value and support critical thinking.  To that end, we encourage creative problem solving and we provide leadership in information literacy.

We value and embrace lifelong learning and inquisitive pursuits.  To that end, we provide resources, services, and expertise in a high-quality learning environment.

We value quality service with a user-centered focus.  We embrace a solution-based approach to service in order to engage lifelong learning and academic success both on campus and in the larger community.

We value working collaboratively with internal and external partners to provide quality service, accomplish goals, and create solutions.

Welcoming Environment

We value an open and inclusive environment.  We endeavor to create a sense of belonging with approachable library faculty and staff.

Aspirational Statement

The Gregg-Graniteville Library will be the hub where research, intellectual engagement, and community converge on the campus.
