EDRD 422--Vanderburg: Search the Catalog

Find It! The Library's Catalog

Using the Library's catalog, you can find books and ebooks, but it also has the capacity to search across all library collections, including articles in databases.  The ability to search across all the Library's resources is convenient, but it also generally produces more results than is manageable.  It is generally recommended that you start with the subject-specific databases when looking for articles and that you use the catalog to find books and ebooks.  If you've searched the subject-specific databases but still need more articles, then using the Library's catalog can be useful to you.

Some things to keep in mind when searching the catalog.  In the Advanced Search window, across the top, you'll see three options for searching:

  • The Gregg-Graniteville Library: Limited to books in our library
  • Articles, Books, & More: This will search across everything in our collections
  • PASCAL Catalog: This will search for books from all academic libraries in South Carolina

Also, to access ebooks, you will log in the same you do the databases.  You will log in with your full USCA email address and email password. Your VIP will not work with the library resources.  See the E-Resources Login page for more information.
