Food for Fines

In cooperation with USC Aiken IMPACT program, the Gregg-Graniteville Library is hosting an end-of-the-year Food for Fines event! This event will take place from April 18th-April 30th, 2024. All patrons including students, faculty, staff, and community patrons can have library fines forgiven through the donation of shelf-stable food and hygiene items.

All food donations will go to the USC Aiken Blessing Box and food pantry. It is not necessary to have library fines to support the Food for Fines canned food and donation drive. Anyone is welcome to show support for the USC Aiken campus community by donating items.

The Gregg-Graniteville library will forgive $10 of library late fines per qualifying item donation. For fine forgiveness, please bring qualifying food or donation items to the Circulation desk and speak to a library staff member to have forgiven fines waived from your account.

Donation items cannot be used in exchange for illegally keeping library or campus property. All library books and materials should be returned to the Circulation Desk no later than April 22nd, 2024.

  • Donations must not expire within the next 90 days/or already be expired.
  • Food and donation items need to be in acceptable condition and free of dents and with item labels and packaging intact.
  • On days the library closes at 5:00 pm donations must be delivered before 4:30 pm. On days the library closes later in the evening or is open 24 hours items must be brought before 9:30 pm.
