Education research focuses on investigating various aspects of teaching and learning, including diverse pedagogies, curriculum development, student engagement, academic achievement, the socio-cultural factors impacting educational outcomes, and the institutions and conditions in which learning takes place.
Education research can extend into interdisciplinary perspectives from fields such as psychology, sociology, anthropology, economics, neuroscience, and public policy. By synthesizing insights from these disciplines, education researchers aim to address complex challenges facing learners, educators, institutions, and society as a whole.

A database like ERIC, Education Source, PsycINFO, PubMed or Academic Search Complete concentrates on the literature of a discipline. Databases add value by assigning consistent descriptors/subject terms. Because a specialized database represents a smaller universe, a big part of searching effectively is making sure you are including terms the database uses. Look and see if your database has a thesaurus. |
