Google Search Tips

Google has an Advanced Search page. You can use it to exercise more control over your searches.

Use the search terms you’ve identified to see what information you can find online regarding your research topic.  Search tip: You can limit searches to specific publications or types of websites with the [site:] function. For example:

•    Limited to a specific website: [Snacking vs Meals site:nytimes.com]
•    Limited to a specific type of site: [Eating habits site:.gov]

Google Scholar

If you find an article that seems useful, paste the title into Google Scholar to see who else may have cited that same article. You could potentially find more articles that would be useful to you.

When you're logged into library databases while searching Google Scholar, you'll see links alongside items in the results list that will link you to our library's resources if we have access to those items.
