Graduation Checklist

Graduation Student Advisement Checklist:

Once a student reaches 90 credit hours, it is time to start discussing their graduation plans. We created this general checklist to help guide you through the student advisement process for graduating seniors. Please be sure to review any departmental graduation requirements prior to the advisement session.

Welcome student.

Check for any mid-term grades and open Navigate cases.

Discuss low mid-term grades and cases to determine possible outcomes.

Use the GPA calculator in DegreeWorks to provide the students with an overall understanding of their midterm grades or to predict possible future outcomes.

Make suggestions for grade recovery if applicable.

Review DegreeWorks and Graduation Clearance Form

Discuss the ACE Event requirement.

Discuss remaining General Education and Major Requirements.

Review the student's overall GPA and Bulletin Year.

Provide Graduation Application Deadline information.

Lift Advisement hold in SSA.

Check for other registration holds in SSA on the upper right-hand corner of the SSA student profile page.

Identify how to resolve any holds with the student.

Provide Registration Time Ticket information.

Schedule any follow-up appointments if necessary.

Enter Appointment Summary in Navigate.
