How to access library resources off-campus

To access USCA Library databases off-campus, login with your USC Network username and password. This is the same login you use to access Blackboard. Please note that you will use your username and NOT your VIP. To learn more, check out the video to the left. If you are having problems accessing the databases from off-campus, please review the "Troubleshooting Off-Campus Login" box below. 

Note: If you are using the USCA VPN to access campus resources off-campus, please turn off your VPN. You will be unable to access library databases with the VPN on.

Troubleshooting Off-Campus Access

If you are unable to login from off-campus using your USC Network Username and password, there are a few things you can do to troubleshoot.

Step 1 - Double check that you are using the correct login information. 

  • -Use your USC Network username and not your Pacer Account(email).
  • -Also, be sure to use your username and not your VIP for login.

Step 2 - Test your login

Step 3 - Reset your USC network username and password

Step 4 - If you still unable to login after resetting your password, you may need to reclaim your account. To do so, please visit this link: https://myaccount.sc.edu/iam/reclaim/reclaim.php  Complete the entire account claiming process. 

Step 5 - A few other things to check:

  • -If you use USCA’s VPN to access resources off-campus, you will need to turn the VPN off in order to access the library databases remotely.
  • -If you are on-campus and unable to login, please make sure you are accessing PacerStudent wifi (for students) and PacerNet wifi (for faculty). If you are using the PacerGuest network, you will be unable to access library resources on-campus. 

Step 6 - Still unable to login? Reach out for additional help. 

  • -If you go through these steps and are still unable to reset your login or access the databases, please contact the USCA help desk directly for help (help@usca.edu
