Library Materials @ the Gregg-Graniteville Library

Physical library materials (books, DVDs, media) are available for checkout. For everyone’s safety, the library staff prefers that no one retrieve their own materials for checkout. Instead, everyone is invited to use the new library catalog “Find It” to request item(s) from the stacks. For U of SC Aiken faculty and staff, you will have the option of having the materials mailed to your office through campus mail.

For more information on the new library material request service or curbside pick up, please check out this resource. We have also created a video showing step-by-step how to request and schedule a pick up. You can view the video here

How do I request a book?

Using the new library catalog “Find It,” you can request item(s) from the library collection. The library staff will retrieve the item(s), check it out to you, and have it available for pick up. Please see the pick up options and request schedule below.

You can pick up the library materials:

- from the library circulation desk; or

- via curbside pick up by appointment

Please note that Items requested by 8:00 am will be available at 10:00 am for pick up. Items requested by 12:00 pm, will be available at 3:00 pm for pick up.

Faculty & staff can also request items be delivered via campus mail.

Returning Library Materials

Patrons are encouraged to return materials to internal or external book return bins.

Returned items will be held separately for 3 days to prevent possible exposure.

Due to the quarantining of returned items (3 days), there will be no print reserves offered during the fall semester.

We recognize that many students, staff, and faculty are away from campus for the summer, so you may wait until you return to campus (by September 1, 2020) to return your books. We will waive any overdue fines accrued through September 1, 2020. For more information about overdue materials, please see below.

Overdue library materials

Materials due after March 16 have automatically had their due date extended until the beginning of fall semester (September 1, 2020).
-You are welcome to return materials to one of the two Library book drops.

- You can also wait to return the books when you return to campus (before September 1)
