Requesting Library Purchases
The Library Collections Department relies heavily on faculty to aid in development of our library’s collection. We encourage all faculty members to make the library aware of book, periodical, and database titles that support the curriculum.
Each academic department has a departmental library liaison who distributes publication catalogs and reviews from Choice magazine to aid you in your selections.
Purchase requests can be submitted in the following ways:
- Send requests directly to the Library Collections Coordinator, Natalia Taylor Poppeliers (nataliap@usca.edu ; 803–641–3492 ; Box 37)
- Give requests to your departmental library liaison
- Complete the online book request form at http://library.usca.edu/index.php/Forms/BookOrderForm
- Print out and complete a book order form (pdf) and send to the Library Collections Coordinator (Box 37)
Note: Journal or database requests may require approval of your departmental chair due to the nature of the ongoing financial commitments associated with these items.
Thank you for helping us build a strong collection for USCA!
Donating to the Library Collection
The Library Collections Department is happy to receive donations of books and some academic journals. Please read the terms and conditions covered in the Deed of Gift Form (pdf) and fill out the form before donating your items. Materials that are not selected for addition to the collection will be offered to other USC campuses or donated to either the American Association of University Women for their annual book sale or to Better World Books. Both organizations use the proceeds from the sale of the books to further education and literacy in the U.S. and abroad. Contact the Library Collections Department before bringing your materials to the library so we may help you unload your donations.
