A Database for All Disciplines
Students and faculty can benefit greatly from Lexis-Nexis, one of the USCA Library’s many subscription databases. Lexis-Nexis Academic is an excellent resource for access to current news, business, legal, and medical information. The Lexis-Nexis Congressional database provides coverage of current US government information as well as access to historical publications of Congress dating back as far as 1823. These full-text documents cover a range of subjects including anthropology, art, communications, photography, endangered species, education, geography, health and medicine, history, international affairs, urban planning, and many, many other topics. Information Literacy Standards for Higher Education

The information literate student determines the nature and extent of the information needed.
The information literate student accesses needed information effectively and efficiently.
The information literate student evaluates information and its sources critically and incorporates selected information into his or her knowledge base and value system.
The information literate student, individually or as a member of a group, uses information effectively to accomplish a specific purpose.
