We are a campus and community government information center serving technological innovations in teaching and research, economic development, and informed citizenship in the information age.

Our mission is to assist students, faculty, and staff at USCA and citizens in and around the Aiken area in tapping the enormous treasure of federal and state government information resources located on the Internet and in our local collections. Government Documents reference assistance is available Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. On Tuesdays until 9:00 pm.

United States Federal Depository

We are part of a network of over 1200 federal depositories nationwide. We receive publications (aka “documents”) from most of the agencies of the federal government. The collection includes documents from the CIA, EPA, NASA, Department of Energy, Congress, Supreme Court, Peace Corps, State Department, and many others. These publications cover wide ranging topics and are especially useful for research in the sciences and social sciences, though we also have humanities related resources as well. There are 20 federal depository libraries in South Carolina.

South Carolina State Depository

The South Carolina State Depository is patterned after the Federal Depository program. We receive publications from most all of the SC state government agencies in exchange for providing housing and reference assistance to campus and the community.
